First of all, I would like to say thank you to Barbie Store Indonesia to choose me as one of the judges for Barbie Costume Competition. Honestly, it was an exciting experience for me to judge children with their amazing costumes. I also got a chance to meet new people, my fellow judges which one of them is from Mattel. Last, but not least, I also could see a lot of potential models in the future. I was totally amazed.
Since the event had relationship with Barbie Doll as its main idea, I were asked to bring some of my models, so I asked all of my designer friends all over Indonesia who were willing to send their dolls to be shown on the event. My plan turned out to be surprisingly, 95% of them sent their best costumes to me. And, I was very pleasure to take their photos.
This event became the moment I showed up in public as a doll photographer for the first time. And, I was given a chance to represent the fashion doll community to explain what are inside our community, what we have achieved, and how seriously our friends make their dresses for their dolls. Although, most of the parents that attended the event were likely more focus on their children instead of being curious about our community, at least you knew a little about our community. But, I was quite happy when there were a lady who was interested in taking each dolls photos and having a short conversation with me.

The event itself was about kids show their beautiful and creative Barbie dress whether they were handmade or from department stores based on the theme: Barbie Holiday (Sparkly and Glamour). It was divided into two groups: group A (3-7 years old) and group B (8- 15 years old). The competition was held in Mall Kelapa Gading, Jakarta on December 20th, 2014.
I would like to say special thank to Ko Erich and Ci Desy who spent their time to visit me, but I am so sorry, I didn't hear you guys called me. Thank you so much.
Ps: If you want to see the dolls on the show, just click these photos
